CLIMATE CHANGE STRATEGY

Climate Change Strategy

Climate change is the global challenge of a generation and requires collective effort. As of October 2022, countries and economies equivalent to 91% of the world’s GDP have committed to net zero. The expectations on corporates too, are rising with pressures to actively manage climate risk and play a role in the solution, trickling through value chains to businesses of all shapes, sizes, and sectors. We are experts in helping businesses develop tailored climate change strategies to manage climate risk and explore the opportunities the global energy transition offers.

Our Climate Services Include

  • GHG Assessments (Scope 1, 2 & 3), Reporting & Disclosure

  • Climate Risk Assessments

  • Corporate Climate Strategies, Roadmaps & Target Setting

Carbon Footprint Assessment & Emission Reduction Strategy Development

An emission reduction strategy is a centrepiece in any climate change strategy, and it provides tangible means for an organisation to take climate action.

We are experts in assessing your business’ GHG emissions and carbon footprint, to identify practical opportunities and solutions that will support impactful emissions reduction. Once that is completed, we will collaborate with your business to produce a fit-for-purpose emission reduction strategy that can be shared with your stakeholders.

Our services also include feasibility assessment, sustainability assessment of your business’s processes and operations, renewable energy solutions and procurement, verified carbon credit offsetting, setting SBTs, and Climate Active certification.

Climate Active Certification

Climate Active is the Australian government’s carbon-neutral certification. Climate Active certification is awarded to businesses and organisations that have credibly reached at state of carbon neutrality. A Climate Active certification sends a clear signal that your business is serious about climate action, provides an edge over competitors, supports customer relationships and business growth.

Obtaining Climate Active certification is a multi-step process and can seem daunting. The Automic ESG team are Climate Active registered consultants who can guide you in the Climate Active certification process.

Taskforce on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)

The TCFD was developed by the Financial Stability Board in 2017 with the aim of improving and increasing the reporting on climate-related financial risk information, and providing comparable risk reporting for investors. Since the inception of TCFD, governments and regulators around the world (i.e., European Union, United Kingdom, Singapore, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, Brazil, and Hong Kong) have mandated TCFD reporting, with the United States currently considering it.

The Automic ESG team are experienced in guiding corporates through the 4 stages of the TCFD reporting process.

Climate Target Settings

Governments, corporates and institutions around the world have set climate targets and clearly laid out their net-zero ambitions. Many companies are now being asked to align to these by establishing their own climate targets, including Science Based Targets (SBT’s). We support companies in understanding their climate target options through education, modelling, scenario analysis and feasibility to develop targets that support and enable their businesses and sustainable success.
