A UK headquartered battery minerals project developer with a large asset in Africa.  

WHY 

Having just achieved a significant approval milestone in country and with an important global investment round imminent, this group were seeking a tailored and impactful ESG framework to support the realisation of the project's potential over the next 5+ years.

HOW

ESG Capital undertook a deep dive analysis of the business both now and as planned over the next 3-5 years. Through an online survey tool we were able to capture key data from the leadership team as well as define priority stakeholders throughout the life of the project. In addition we reviewed industry peers, global battery value chain requirements and country/jurisdiction specific guidelines and expectations.

We produced a detailed Framework Development Report, and in collaboration with the leadership team developed an ESG Charter. This outlined, vision, goals, adopted standards, performance metrics and a practical implementation plan that will be critical in managing and communicating the companies ESG efforts, impacts and credentials.
